Sandra Harley, BA
Instructor

Sandra brings a unique set of experiences to Canpro Training Resources Inc.  She has an undergraduate degree (SFU) in communications (minor in education), focusing on social issues communications, obtained a certificate in substance misuse from the Justice Institute of BC, and has a certificate in volunteer management.  Sandra also has an extensive background as a community volunteer in various social and public safety areas.

Sandra has spent the bulk of her professional career working in the fields of substance misuse, spousal violence, victim services, community development, and human safety as an educator and manager.  She has extensive experience in program design, adult and youth instruction, specifically in the areas of women who have experienced violence.

With experience working in and managing a crisis line for battered women, an organization that provides housing to street involved youth, and crisis lines, Sandra has a very unique and rich perspective on inter-personal violence and human safety.  She has also participated in a number of specialized “self defence/personal safety” for women training programs, and has direct experience in critical incident debriefing.  In her work positions as a manager, Sandra has extensive exposure to occupational health and safety regulations, policies and procedures both from the perspective of planning, development and implementation.

Sandra has extensive experience in training crisis workers who provide frontline services to women who have experienced violence.  This includes providing conflict resolution, communications and staff safety knowledge and competencies.
