Canpro to speak at World Congress on Disaster Management

Canpro Training Resources has been selected as the only group from British Columbia to speak at the July, 2007 17th World Congress on Disaster Management.
Disaster, crisis and human safety professionals from around the world are expected to attend the conference, to be held in Toronto. Canpro's submission entitled "A Systems Based Approach for Addressing Workplace Violence" was selected as a 3 hour seminar/workshop from over 340 submissions that were received from around the world.
Workplace violence takes many forms. The one constant is the often devastating impact on staff, organizations, and the general public. Workplace violence is a complex issue, requiring a network of mitigation strategies and preventative approaches.
"A Systems Based Approach for Addressing Workplace Violence" is a highly interactive workshop that will assist participants to map out their own corporate plan using a matrix focusing on: prevention, response, post-event, with strategies within each time line relating specifically to the aggressor, staff, physical environment, and organizational environment.
Within the planning matrix, discussion will include effective, proven mitigation strategies, including the use of site security audits, crime prevention through environmental design, appropriate policies and procedures, crisis planning, staff training, situational awareness, employee assistance resources.
