National law enforcement training in South East Asia
June, 2007
Continuing it's work with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Canpro is in Viet Nam this month piloting a new, national level, police capacity development program focused on the investigation of commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking of children.
The training is being delivered in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and centers around good international practices, international conventions, and human rights. Learning is supported by a new 230 page participant workbook.
Included in this trip is the delivery of a training for police trainers course, and facilitation of a national discussion on youth centered community policing and crime prevention practices.
This is the fifth trip to Viet Nam for Canpro, and discussions are already underway around projects for 2008, including specialized police investigative team training on child pornography.
