Witness Protection and Community Safety
November, 2007
In a joint Canpro Global presentation, three Canpro staff testified before the Canadian federal Commission of Inquiry into the Investigation of the Bombing of Air India Flight 182 in Ottawa at the end of October.
The President of Canpro Global, the Managing Partner of Canpro Training Resources, and a Senior Manager with Canpro Alberta gave evidence to Commission on witness protection, the role of the private sector in this unique area of human safety, and broadly spoke about the Canadian criminal justice system.
The Commission of Inquiry set aside the entire week to focus on protecting those who cooperate with police and the criminal justice system. Canpro was the only private sector group invited to travel to Ottawa to offer evidence of this important subject. In advance of testifying, Canpro submitted an academic paper on witness protection.
